How the Voice Widget Works

Real Voice Conversation

The widget opens a live WebSocket connection to ElevenLabs. You speak, it transcribes instantly, and the AI responds with a natural voice — just like a phone call.

Two-way Audio

Your microphone input is streamed in real-time. The AI's response is synthesised and played back through your speakers. No typing required at any point.

Cloud-Powered Brain

Behind the voice is the CarbonSense AI agent, trained on UAE emission factors, GCC industry benchmarks, and the full GHG Protocol methodology.

Before You Click the Microphone

Microphone access

Your browser will ask for microphone permission the first time. Click "Allow" — the audio never leaves the ElevenLabs secure pipeline.

Stable internet connection

The widget streams audio in real-time. A weak connection will cause delays or disconnections. Use Wi-Fi if possible.

Use headphones or earbuds

Prevents the AI's voice from being picked up by your microphone, which can cause echo or feedback loops.

Quiet environment

recommended

Background noise (AC units, traffic, conversations) reduces transcription accuracy. A quiet room gives the best results.

Have rough numbers ready

Monthly electricity bill or kWh, fuel consumption, waste volumes. Estimates are fine — the AI will work with ranges.

Speak at a normal pace

No need to slow down or shout. Speak as you would on a phone call. The AI understands both Arabic and English naturally.

Common Issues & How to Fix Them

"Microphone blocked" or no audio input

Click the padlock icon in your browser address bar → Site settings → Microphone → Allow. Then refresh the page.

Widget shows "Origin not allowed"

If you're accessing the app from a custom domain, the ElevenLabs agent needs that domain added to its Allowed Origins list in the ElevenLabs dashboard (Agent → Security).

AI voice sounds choppy or cuts out

Usually a network issue. Move closer to your Wi-Fi router, disable VPN, or switch from mobile data to a stable connection.

AI doesn't understand my numbers

Spell out large numbers ("twelve thousand") instead of digits. Use simple units ("five hundred kilowatt hours per month").

Privacy & Data

Your voice is processed by ElevenLabs' secure infrastructure and is not stored beyond the session. The carbon data you share is used only to generate your report and is never sold to third parties. Read the ElevenLabs privacy policy for full details.
